To help we collected a list of the most interesting farmers' markets for you. The local farmers will provide you with fresh, quality food choices that you will love. Go to any of these markets and you will find quality (often organically grown) fruits, vegetables, flowers and other items such as goat cheese and interior decorative items made on the Big Island.

Kona area farmers markets

  • Keuahou Famers' Market at the Keauhou Shopping Center, south of Kailua Kona at the end of Alii Drive. This market is open on Saturday from 8AM to noon.
  • Kailua Village Farmer's Market offers flowers, produce, macnuts and coffee. Every Thursday-Sunday from 8AM-5PM. Across from Hale Halawai, Kailua-Kona.
  • Kona Farmer's Market - Fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers and breads. 7am - 5pm. every Thursday through Sunday. In front of K-Mart, Kailua-Kona
  • Alii Gardens Marketplace - 50 merchants, food for sale, as well. On Alii Drive (75-6129 Ali'i Drive), 2 miles south of Kailua Bay Pier. Wed.-Sun., 9am-5pm.

Waikoloa/Waimea

  • Waikoloa Village Farmers' Market. Waikoloa Community Church Parking Lot. Saturday 7:15AM-10AM
  • Hawaiian Homestead Farmers' Market. Hawaiian Homes Hall, Waimea, close to mile marker 53. Saturday 7AM-noon
  • Kekela Farm. 64-604 Mana Road, Waimea. Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 2PM-5PM
  • Waimea Town Market. Parker School in Waimea. Saturday 8AM-noon

Captain Cooks

  • Captain Cook Farmer's Market is open Monday-Friday (Open air every Thursday). Fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables, orchid plants and crafts. Free tours of a macadamia nut and coffee operation. Call for times: 328-2412. 82-5810 Napoopoo Rd. (Look for pink donkey sign.)
  • South Kona Fruit Stand offers tropical fruits and plants near the old Higashi store, Mon-Sat, 9 am to 6 pm; 84-4770 Mamalahoa Hwy. in Captain Cook. Info: 328-8547.
